  • Function

From the filed bus cable to feeder cable, a large number and kinds of resistor and control units will be put among the electrical circuit, explosion proof junction is to connect one end of cable with another end in a enclosed housing for well-organized branch wiring.

  • Hazard class division

You know there are different classifications and divisions for explosion proof junction box, hazard class division can be class 1 div 1 and class div 2, group A, B, C, D and group C, D, zone 1 and zone 2, IIC and IIB, you can check the hazardous area classifications chart from other pages.

Explosion Proof Junction Box
  • Usage by application

Depends on the application field, explosion proof junction box can be used in upstream oil and gas plant, processing refinery and petrochemical plant, fuel related plant, chemical and mining plant and anywhere there is flammable gas, vapor, mist and dust.

  • Alternative for brand-new model

As a big explosion proof box supplier, SUREALL explosion proof junction box can be the alternative junction box solution for ccae box, ccai box, cstb box, ejb box, ejb full form, gube box, sx7e box, bxj box, each box, gua 4 box, gua number 7 box, gua fitting electrical, guat conduit body.

Explosion Proof Junction Box Main Use

What Is EJB Junction Box?

EJB junction means explosion proof junction box, also called explosion proof box, SUREALL put electrical terminal blocks whose rated current ranges from low ampere, normally lower than 32 ampere, to middle and high ampere, normally more than 32 ampere in a solid constructed explosive protected junction box to worked as cable connection and integration center in hazardous location.

As for SJB-IIB, SJB-IIC series and SJB-A-IIB, SJB-A-IIC series, the solid constructed junction box are flame proof structure, it means the housing can withstand the internal explosion and prevent the internal energy from igniting the outside of the housing to ensure the safety, but the size is different, SJB-IIB and SJB-IIC are small size only suitable for rated current which is lower than 32 ampere, SJB-A-IIB and SJB-A-IIC are big size suitable for rated current which is more than 32 ampere. Besides, the suitable gas group is different, SJB-IIB and SJB-A-IIB series can be used in IIB gas group, Group C, D, instead, SJB-IIC and SJB-A-IIC series can be used in IIC gas group, Group A, B, C, D.

Explosion Proof Junction Box

Note: AL means aluminum alloy, GRP means glass reinforced plastic, SS means stainless steel 304/316.

As for SJB-A-e, SJB-P, SJB-S series, the solid constructed junction box is increased safety factory sealed explosion proof structure with increase safety explosion proof built-in terminal blocks whose material have limited temperature floating range and better insulating property. The only difference for them is the material, SJB-A-E-e is made of aluminum alloy, SJB-P is made of glass reinforced plastic, SJB-S is made of stainless steel.

FAQs about Explosion Proof Junction Box

Q

What is Ex e junction box?

A

Ex e junction box, the whole name increased safety explosion proof junction box, is normally made of aluminum alloy (SJB-A-e series), glass reinforced plastic (SJB-P series) or stainless steel(SJB-S series) housing with prior sealing for the joint between body and cover and sometimes equipped with increased safety components inside the housing.

Q

What is the difference between exd and exe junction box?

A

The explosion proof technology applied are different, exd explosion proof junction box(SJB-IIB, SJB-IIC, SJB-A-IIB, SJB-A-IIC series) is flame proof which explosion are allowed inside the housing(the housing can withstand the explosion pressure) but no explosion will come out of the housing, ex e explosion proof junction box(SJB-A-e, SJB-P, SJB-S sereis) is increased safety which explosion will not formed even inside the housing through better quality insulation material.

FAQs about Explosion Proof Junction Box
Q

What is the difference between terminal box and junction box?

A

Explosion proof terminal box are pre-designed with well-arranged layout for connection without extra space for future expansion, explosion proof junction box are designed with spare space for connection change in the future after arranged the present existing circuits, normally terminal box is normally bigger than junction box.

Q

How close can an electrical junction box be to a gas line?

A

In order to make sure the safety, SUREALL SJB-A-IIB series explosion proof junction box are widely used in gas line but it should be install at least 3 feet (around 900mm) far from gas meter or any kinds of ignition source such as explosion proof panel, explosion junction box, explosion proof switch and other devices energized by electricity.

Q

What is an explosion proof box?

A

Explosion proof box is a box installed electrical components probably produce electrical spark with protective explosion proof technology, such as flame proof, increased safety technology to improve the overall safety level to be in hazardous location without hidden explosion potentials, you can check the article "What is an explosion proof junction box?"
